Ian Hyatt is a disabled writer of Fantasy with a passion for the otherworldly and the magical. He was born in the suburbs of Chicago in 2001, where he grew up with a love for reading and books especially pertaining to fantasy. When could barely walk at 2 years old, Ian was diagnosed with a muscle wasting disease called muscular dystrophy. To this day, he refuses to let that stop him from living his life.

In 2008, he half wrote a story before losing interest. It wasn’t until he became a freshman in 2015 that he unlocked his love for writing. He would write during lunch and whenever he would have free time. At first, it was a coping mechanism for his loneliness and depression, but it quickly became his favorite thing and passion. It went further when an author visited his school a year later. Ian largely credits her for his wish to share his stories with the world, and his dedication to writing fantasy.

He joined a writing group on discord in 2020 in hopes to improve his craft. There other writers were able to help him in the right direction, and he found friends he is still friends with to this day. The love Ian has for writing continues to grow each day, propelling him forward to reach his ultimate goal. He is currently writing his first novel about a boy who gets trapped in the land of the dead, forced to try and escape before it kills him.

Ian now lives in Florida with his family where he hopes to whisk his readers away to fantastical new places through his stories. On his blog, he shares his experiences, advice and more as he continues to grow as a writer.
